Step 1 – Create an account

Step 2 – Setup Billing

Outscraper defaults to the FREE level and only charges when you go over the free monthly quota. There is no inherent cost to use this service up to certain levels like Google API. The Free Tier is the amount of usage you can use for free each month. This means any usage of the product below 500 requests during a month will be for free. So basically, every API account gets 500 businesses, 500 domains for Email & Contact info, 500 reviews, and 500 photos free each month. So you can continue to come back and use these 500 items each month and never have any out-of-pocket costs. Or you can do more at scale in one month and pay a bulk per item fee above the free limits. There are two options for billing, Prepaid and Postpaid.

To setup prepaid amount, click on "Billing Information" and add desired amount and payment method to add credit.

Option 2: Post-Paid

When you run a task without any prepaid credits, a new billing period will be created. Once you have any amount due (IE above the free limits), you can stop it manually by clicking "Generate Invoice". Otherwise upon completion of your billing period, you will only receive an invoice for the use above the free tier.

If you choose post-paid you will need to add a card on file, just like you had to for the Google Maps API. Select "Billing Information" and then Add button.

Step 3 – Copy API

Go back to your main account tab. Yours may not say "support" with this logo. It may be your site or username with your icon or first initial. But click this button above the billing and your main account info will load.

Your Outscraper API should now be filled in. Click the copy icon to copy the API code.

The Yelp Fusion API allows its users to get local content and user reviews from millions of businesses of hospitality and service industries across 32 countries. The Yelp API is used by DirectoryImport to load listing data, images, and reviews.

How do I get the Yelp API Key?

Getting your Fusion API key is fast and easy. To do it, you have to follow these simple Yelp API guidelines.

Step 1 – Create an account

First you have log into the developers portal with your existing Yelp account or create a new one

You can continue working with Yelp service through Facebook, Google, or Apple account. The other option is to sign up with your email address. In this case you’ll get a confirmation email – don’t forget to follow the link in it to verify your account.

Step 2 – Get started with Fusion API

Once you’ve logged into the Yelp developers service, go to https://fusion.yelp.com to get to the Fusion API section of the portal. Press the Get Started button.

Step 3 – Create an App

Create your first Yelp App to receive your personal Fusion API key. Fill in the required fields in the form, agree to Yelp API Terms of Use and Display Requirements. Then prove you’re a human, and press Create New App.

After that you’ll get your API Key.

Remember to keep your personal Yelp API key to yourself! It is the credential for your call to Yelp’s API and must be used only by you.

If you need to get back to the API at a later point the best way is to browse to this link and sign-in. You should see your API at the top of the page. What are the limits of the API?

By default, any client is limited to 5,000 API calls per 24 hours. This count is reset every midnight UTC.

Can I choose which reviews to display in an API query?

DirectoryImport only displays the data presented by Yelp. The sort and order of reviews are determined by recency, user voting, and other review quality factors to help consumers make informed decisions. The Yelp API cannot be configured to draw any alternative or hand-picked review excerpts.

Why is the Yelp API not delivering content for businesses I know are on Yelp?

Yelp API only returns the info for businesses that have some Yelp user-generated content added. Specifically, they must have at least one customer review.

How do I update the plugin?

In general you plugin will auto update with the latest code and bug fixes automatically. It is not immediate updates however. To keep the site speed up the source code is cached and the widget code will only load the source from our host via API every 2 days. So you will get any fixes automatically, but only when your 2 day caching expires. STEP 1: Point your domain

The first step is to point your domain to the BD servers through your domain registrar (Uniregistry, Go Daddy, etc.) by using either the Nameserver Method or A Record Method.

Why Do I Need To Connect My Domain?

When you launch a new Brilliant Directories website you get a "Staging URL", which is a temporary URL that you can use while you build your website. Some of the advantages to having a staging URL is that it affords you the time to work on your site without impacting your eventual domain. This allows you to have it live on your old service until your new directory is complete. Some users prefer to wait until their website has all of the proper keywords and settings set to avoid having their websites indexed before it is ready.

Please Read These Three Tips Before Connecting Your Domain:

You must update your domain nameservers OR A Record BEFORE connecting your domain. Skipping that step and connecting your domain will make it impossible to view your website. Name server changes usually take 24 to 48 hours to fully start working. This period, called propagation, is the projected length of time it takes for root name servers and cache records across the entire web to be updated with your website's DNS information. Therefore it is recommended this step be done several days before trying to add your live domain to your BD site.
If you are currently using a 3rd party service for emails and do not wish to have any email interruptions, BD recommends pointing your domain using the A Record. NOTE: There are known issues with GoDaddy Email Services and BD does not recommend using them for your emails.

This method is popular when using a sub-domain. Connect your domain by pointing your domain's A Record to its assigned IP Address. STEP 2 Update The Domain Of The Site In The Domain Manager

This area of the Admin allows you to specify the domain of the website.

Add your domain in the "Set New Primary Domain" box. Please note that if you are adding a primary domain you will need to add the "www." even if you plan on setting your website as a non-www website. If you are using a subdomain you must not add the "www." If for any reason you forget this information, the system will not allow you to proceed until you've entered the domain correctly:

Once you have entered your domain with the proper format you will be asked to add it in the "Confirm Domain" box:

Once you've complete that final step you may proceed to click on "Add Domain"

DirectoryImport has many configurations to preset items for import so you do not have to enter them for each listing and allows settings to reduce API calls if desired based on your specific needs. Read more to find out about each one.

Google API

The Google API will be pulled from the normal API setup within your BD account if previously configured. Yelp API

The Yelp API is used for reviews only and is part of the DirectoryPhotos plugin if you have purchased that. If you do not own DirectoryPhotos or want to include Yelp Reviews you can leave this blank. You can find a guide about setting up a Yelp Fusion API key here.

Outscraper API

The Outscraper API key is used to download the listing data to your site. This is a required item to be able to use this tool. You can find a guide about setting up an Outscraper API key here.

Default Membership Level

This setting allows you to select the default membership level to use for the new listings created with the generator. A list of your membership levels will be in the drop down for you to select.

Enable Photo Listings / Reviews

These settings are used in conjunction with DirectoryPhotos which allows users to add Google Images and Reviews to their business listing. If you you have DirectoryPhotos installed these will appear as settings so you can also import the images and reviews during the initial import process instead of having to have the customer or yourself do it from the from end. If you do not have DirectoryPhotos these configurations will not be shown. The default phot and review count number is the amount of photos or reviews the API will download during import.

The "Current Listings Update" tab has several areas seen below that allow you to load Google/Yelp images and reviews for a given listing. These configurations allow you to turn on or off the images and reviews import when the "Load Pictures and Reviews" bulk action is chosen in the "Current Listings Update" tab.

This data pull process normally pulls these items together. However some directory owners may not want to pull both of these items, so these configuration options allow you to remove either item from the download/update process. As a result if either item is turned off the images or reviews will not import when the "Load Pictures and Reviews"action is chosen in the top bulk action or side individual download option.

In addition, this also controls whether these items are preselected for download in the new listings import tab. If the configuration is unchecked then these will not be present as a download option preselect.

Default Gallery Name

This is another configuration for the DirectoryPhotos integration. When photos are imported for a location DirectoryPhotos makes a Photo Album under each business that includes the images. This setting sets the default gallery name for that album when created during import.

The name will be what is presented on the front end. The name can be changed by the user or admin in the photos tab of each listing or in the title name of the associated photo album. The names will be updated in both locations if edited.

Verify Listings

BD has a verified badge capability that you can add to listings. The purpose of this feature is for the members to receive a badge on their listing that lets users know that the member was verified by the website administrator.

A default badge will show on the profile (checkmark) that can be altered to whatever image you want in the image settings. It will show a message telling the public that the listing is verified if users hover over the icon.

Normally this is a manual process that is done one by one for each listing, but since we are importing data directly from Google My Business, users may want to mark the listing as verified right away. This setting allows you to do that. If this option is selected then all listings will be automatically verified during import.

You also will have the option to override the setting for each listing in the import tab even though the Yes or No is preset based on your config setting.

Widgets, opt-in forms, screen elements and landing pages are collectively called “Widgets”. This Agreement is legally binding on you, the person using this Site, and Sovereign Net LTD. Terms such as “we”, “our” and “us” refer to Sovereign Net LTD.

Fees and Subscriptions

Paid Subscriptions: fee-based type of Services (hereinafter also referred to as “Paid Services”, “Paid Version” or “Premium”).

You must have Internet access and provide us with a current, valid, accepted method of payment (as such may be updated from time to time, “Payment Method”) to use the Paid Services. You may cancel your current Subscription before it renews each month or year in order to avoid billing of the next month’s subscription fees to your Payment Method. Except for refunds provided for cancellation of any Paid Subscriptions (as described in the section below entitled Cancellation and Termination), there will be no refunds or credits for partial months or years of service or for periods in which your Subscription remains active but you do not use the Services.

We may offer a number of subscription plans, including special promotional plans with differing conditions and limitations (“Differing Subscriptions”) in the form of purchased or received Subscription discount codes. If you have purchased a code sold by or received it from or on behalf of Michigan Business Solutions, for access to the Paid Subscriptions for the time period indicated on your email (“Code”), or if you are accessing the service through some other limited offer which you received or purchased from Michigan Business Solutions (“Limited Offer”), this Agreement applies to your access to the Services. Any separate sets of terms and conditions presented to you along with the Code or other Limited Offer also apply to your access to the Service using the Code or Limited Offer, any materially different terms from those described in these Terms of Services will be disclosed at your sign-up or in other communications made available to you. All Content that belongs to you will belong to you. In addition, any Widget you create using our Services may be used by you for any lawful purpose, personal or business during your subscription term, provided however that you may not resell or license any template or other Sovereign Net LTD materials or content or otherwise violate any terms of this Agreement.

Note that if you cancel your subscription, Sovereign Net LTD will discontinue providing hosting and any integration and back-end services for your Widgets. This means that you will no longer be able to use your account to access the Widgets you have created using our services. Sovereign Net LTD will use Content you upload solely in connection with providing the Services to you, and for no other reason. You agree that by uploading, importing or otherwise providing any Content on or through the Site and/or the Services, you grant, and have all necessary rights and permissions to grant, to Sovereign Net LTD a transferable, sub-licensable, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, process, display, all or any portion of such Content, solely in connection with providing the Services to you. This license includes the right to host, index, cache or otherwise format your Content in order to provide the Services.

You also grant us a transferable, sub-licensable, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use any Content that you have published, made public, post in any form and/or share with others for our marketing purposes, including publishing, making public in any form in connection with Sovereign Net LTD. Aside from the rights specifically granted herein, you retain ownership of all rights, including intellectual property rights, in the Content that you post to the Service, except that you agree to waive your right to be identified as the author of any Content on the Service and your right to object to derogatory treatment of such Content.

You represent and warrant that you own your Content or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents and permissions to grant the license set forth herein and that its provision to Sovereign Net LTD or Sovereign Net LTD’s use thereof will not violate the copyrights, privacy rights, publicity rights, trademark rights, contract rights or any other intellectual property rights or other rights of any person or entity, and that you shall comply with the applicable data protection laws.

Beta Tests

From time to time and at our sole discretion, we may initiate Beta Tests. We may implement, run, suspend, or terminate Beta Tests at any time without notice or liability, and do not guarantee that a tested product, service, modification, upgrade, or other adjustment to the Site, Services, or means of providing the Services, will become part of the Services. We may deliver (and subsequently cease delivering) Beta Tests to all or any subset of Sovereign Net LTD Account holders at our discretion without prior permission at any time.

If we decide to incorporate a tested product or service into the Sovereign Net LTD Services, we may adjust our prices accordingly. Sovereign Net LTD accepts no liability for any consequences resulting from, or related to, your participation in a Beta Test.

Where you choose to use or connect Third Party Services along with usage of Sovereign Net LTD Widgets, you agree that Sovereign Net LTD may share your lead data with these designated Third Parties and use data provided by Third Party Services in connection with providing the Services, without liability. You are fully responsible for any and all Personal Information contained in any lead data or Content, and agree to abide by all applicable laws within your jurisdiction.

In particular you are required to:

Monitoring

Sovereign Net LTD uses tracking cookies to track visits to your pages, and page views, in order to calculate conversion rates per page and traffic usage per Account. It is your responsibility to adhere to all applicable laws within your jurisdiction regarding the disclosure of such monitoring, and Sovereign Net LTD disclaims all liability in this area.

We reserve the right to monitor the security and preserve the integrity of our Site, resources, data, Widgets, Content, and intellectual property (yours, ours, and Third Parties’). By using the Services, you agree that we may, with or without prior notice or notification, for any reason, and at our sole discretion, immediately suspend your access to the Services or Site, remove and/or request that you remove pages and Content, and/or terminate this Agreement. Reasons for removing Content or pages, or requesting their removal, may include, but are not limited to, security threats, intellectual property violations, attempts (whether or not successful) to access unauthorized data or other Content, or the presence of Content or pages that in any way violate this Agreement (including the Privacy Policy) or place Sovereign Net LTD, our customers, business, affiliates, partners, or licensors at risk, as determined solely by us. Suspension of use and access is not a breach of this Agreement by Sovereign Net LTD, and your Account/Content/pages may be reinstated when the threat or risk has been remedied, at our sole discretion. Sovereign Net LTD disclaims all liability for suspending the Site or Services, removing or requesting the removal of Content or pages, or terminating this Agreement, and you have no claim to any form of compensation or damages arising from such action.

Intellectual Property Rights

Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Sovereign Net LTD grants to you, during the term of this Agreement, a non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive, revocable, limited-purpose right to access and use the Services that are subject to a valid Subscription.

You acknowledge that any ideas, suggestions, concepts, processes or techniques which you provide to Sovereign Net LTD related to the Services, the Site or Sovereign Net LTD or its business (“Feedback”) shall become Sovereign Net LTD’s property without any compensation or other consideration payable to you by Sovereign Net LTD, and you do so of your own free will and volition. Sovereign Net LTD may or may not, in its sole discretion, use or incorporate the Feedback in whatever form or derivative Sovereign Net LTD may decide into the Site, its software, services, documentation, business or other products, or any future versions or derivatives of the foregoing. You hereby assign all rights on a worldwide basis in perpetuity to Sovereign Net LTD in any Feedback and, as applicable, waive any moral rights.

Sovereign Net LTD owns any test results, data information and other output generated by your use of the Site and/or the Services during the term of this Agreement.

All custom graphics, icons, logos and service names are registered trademarks, trademarks or service marks of Sovereign Net LTD or its Affiliates. All other trademarks or service marks are property of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms of Use grants you any right to use any trademark, service mark, logo, and/or the name of Sovereign Net LTD or its Affiliates.

except where expressly permitted, engages in spamming, “chain letters”, “pyramid schemes”, advertisement of illegal or controlled products or services, or other advertising or marketing activities that violate this Agreement, the Privacy Policy or any applicable laws, regulations or generally-accepted advertising or marketing industry guidelines;

Usage in excess of these limits will be subject to Subscription upgrade to a plan which meets your Services usage needs. Sovereign Net LTD retains the right to modify the foregoing usage limits and/or to create new limits at Sovereign Net LTD’s sole discretion. Sovereign Net LTD’s failure to enforce at any time any of the foregoing usage limits shall not constitute a waiver of any such limit or of any other provision in this Agreement.

Disclaimer of Warranties

SOVEREIGN NET LTD DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE AND CONTENT, WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SITE OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKES THE SITE AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOU AGREE THAT, FROM TIME TO TIME, SOVEREIGN NET LTD MAY REMOVE THE SITE FOR INDEFINITE PERIODS OF TIME WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT YOUR CONTENT IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE SITE. SOVEREIGN NET LTD DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY UNAUTHORIZED USE OF YOUR CONTENT BY THIRD PARTIES OR OTHER USERS OF THE SITE AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTING YOUR CONTENT.

Limitation of Liability / Exclusion of Consequential and Related Damages

IN NO EVENT WILL EITHER PARTY HAVE ANY LIABILITY TO THE OTHER PARTY FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, REVENUES OR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, COVER OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, WHETHER AN ACTION IS IN CONTRACT OR TORT AND REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF A PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE FOREGOING DISCLAIMER WILL NOT APPLY TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY LAW.

THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS SHALL ALSO APPLY WITH RESPECT TO ANY DAMAGES INCURRED BY REASON OF ANY CONTENT OR SERVICES PROVIDED ON ANY THIRD PARTY SITES OR OTHERWISE PROVIDED BY ANY THIRD PARTIES OTHER THAN Sovereign Net LTD AND RECEIVED BY YOU THROUGH OR ADVERTISED ON THE SITE OR RECEIVED BY YOU ON ANY THIRD PARTY SITES. Sovereign Net LTD shall have no liability whatsoever for any damages, liabilities, losses or any other consequences that you may incur as a result of any such modification, suspension or discontinuance.

Indemnity

Cancellation and Termination

Upon cancellation of your Subscription, Sovereign Net LTD is under no obligation to maintain or store your account information or Content. Sovereign Net LTD may, at its option, either delete your information and Content immediately or retain it (in full or in part) in accordance with Sovereign Net LTD’s processes and practices.

Sovereign Net LTD reserves the right at any time, and without cost, charge or liability, to terminate this Agreement at its sole discretion for any reason, including, but not limited to, a failure to comply with the terms of this Agreement. In addition, Sovereign Net LTD may, in its sole discretion, at any time, temporarily or permanently suspend access to your account, Subscription, the Sites or Services for any violation or suspected violation of this Agreement. Sovereign Net LTD also reserves the right to deny access to anyone, including, but not limited to those users who use proxy servers and/or IP addresses. Sovereign Net LTD reserves the right to terminate any portion of the Site at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.

Agreement to Governing Law and Jurisdiction

STEP BY STEP GUIDE

** Note - Pre-Start Requirement** - Later on in the AutoRequest Setup you will be selecting a form you have already setup, so be sure you have done that first HERE.

Contact Settings - The Contact Settings allow you to set the timing for when you request a testimonial from each contact by setting the frequency to once a month, once every 3 months, once every 6 months, or once every year. Most will set this as once a year. This means that once a contact leaves a campaign, they won't be contacted within another campaign for at least 365 days. You of course can manually adding them to a campaign and if you do, this setting will be overridden at that point.
Property Settings - Enter the Sender (From) name and email address (Reply-to address) you want for your emails.
Custom Email - You have the ability to send from your own domain vs the standard send address. To set this up, click the "Use a custom email address" checkbox, add your email, and click the save and verify address button. You will be sent an email to the designated email from Amazon Web Services with the subject "Email Address Verification Request in region US East (N. Virginia)". Please click the link in that email to verify your address for sending. While not required, in order to ensure the best deliverability, we also recommend you setup the DKIM/SPF records in your domain DNS settings. You will be provided with 3 CNAME and 1 txt record to add to your DNS settings. You can click the easy copy button for each item. Setup for these items are included in the script install service if that was purchased. You can also purchase separately if required HERE. Once your DNS records have been updated you can click refresh to see the current verification status. Once updated the items will show green as active.

2. Configure your campaigns

Add New Campaign - From the main Auto Requests page click the "Campaigns" button and then click "+ Add Campaign" on the far right.
Choose Your Objective - For now the only Objective Option is for Collecting business testimonials or reviews. These are campaigns designed to collect business testimonials within DirectoryTestimonial or reviews on external platforms such as Google, Facebook and more. So for now just click the next button. Soon you will be able to have a new objective for Collecting product reviews. These will be campaigns and review forms designed specifically for e-commerce product reviews.
Add Campaign Name - This can be anything from a list you are using, a tag category, or sending month, whatever you want based on your campaign settings. Don't worry you can come back and edit this later, so feel free to be generic at first till you get a system setup.
Choose Request Type - You have three options for making your testimonial requests. You can select email, SMS or a combination of both.
Select Form and Tag Responses - Select a review form to send your contacts to. You will have a list from all of your forms, so pick one for this campaign. (You can View the form to verify in case you did not name them good enough to determine the right one.) You can also add tags to the responses from this campaign to differentiate or filter the testimonials later on. You can use Month, Group, Event, etc.
Set Your Sending Schedule - Unless you are a fireman, no one like random alarm bells in the middle of the night, so we allow fine tuning your email and SMS messaging time lines. We allow you to pick:
- During Office Hours
- Daytimes including weekends
- Anytime or
- A Custom Schedule

If you Choose a custom schedule you will be able to select a per day time schedule when you want the requests to go out. And of course, this all would all be lost if we assumed you were on the East Coast of the US so we allow you to pick your time zone to make the times applicable to you. Or by narrowing the time lines you can make it applicable to multiple zones.

Add Campaign Contacts - DirectoryTesimonial allows you to an almost limitless fine tuning of your contacts to send a campaign to. You can add AND as well as OR prameters to filter out your contacts to send the campaign. The system will dynamically let you know how many will enter the campaign. You can see an example below that looks for contacts that have the name of Ryan that have been with you more than 30 days or anyone who have not left a comment in the last year. You can see there are 0 in my list who meet that filter set so will want to choose alternate options. If you do not add any rules it will automatically add everyone in your contact list.
Select a message sequence template - While you can certainly add your own content from scratch, we also provide a complete set of message and SMS templates for some of the most common testimonials needs including

Edit Messages - After selecting the desired message chain, the messages will be populated which will then allow you to edit, duplicate, remove or add additional messages.
Add Follow-ups - Soon you can set automated messages that can be triggered once a testimonial is received. Example use cases:
- Sending a thank you message to customers.
- Asking customers to share their review to external platforms (Google, Facebook etc), based on your review form settings.
- Sending a reward to customers for their review (independent of their rating).
Save and Go Live - Once you are all set or ready to save your work, click Save or Go Live.
Status Check- Status Can be checked back on the main AutoRequest page. Any Campaigns saved but not live will say draft. If they are active it will say live. To Go Live or pause campaigns, simply click the campaign name and edit the status at the bottom of the page.
